Lahangan Sweet on Bali - Viewpoint of Mount Agung

If you ever visit Bali, one of the best things to do in Bali is to watch the sunrise or sunset on Mount Agung. The viewpoint from Lahangan Sweet is no exception. You can see the towering Mount Agung to your left and the pictorial Bali coastline to your right from atop a lush green mountain range in East Bali. On a clear day, you might be able to view Mount Rinjani, which is located on the island of Lombok.

Visit Mount Agung at sunrise or sunset to see the light sneak over the mountain, illuminating the rice fields, valley, and skyline brilliantly. For the finest view, climb up to the tree platform.

How to visit Lahangan Sweet

The easiest and most convenient way to get to Lahangan Sweet Bali is by scooter or car. If you are staying in Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, or Ubud, renting a scooter and driving the three hours to Karangasem in East Bali is the best way. You can rent a motorbike for around 60000 IDR a day.

If you are you less confident when it comes to riding a scooter? Another excellent way to get around Bali is to hire a private car and driver for the day and explore everything the island has to offer.

Entrance Lahangan Sweet

It is free for locals to visit the Lahangan Sweet viewpoint, but foreigners must pay 20,000 IDR. You can buy the tickets from the ticket office at the entrance.

Best time to visit Lahangan Sweet

The most suitable time to visit Lahangan Sweet is in the early morning, around 6 AM at sunrise, or late afternoon, around 5.30 PM at sunset. It is a fast and easy visit from Ubud. 

Being there (March – November) may be the better option if you want perfect views with no disturbances from the weather. The area is much dryer and offers a great view of the surrounding islands in the distance.

Due to its mountaintop location, this attraction can be wild during the wet season (December – February). Still, it's a great time to visit because the scenery will be lush and green all around.

Treehouse platform at Lahangan Sweet

Lahangan Sweet Bali has several viewpoints that provide an excellent beautiful view of Amed and the Karangasem region.

After about a minute of walking down the path, you'll come across the most famous treehouse platform. This platform is built around a tree, and you must climb the ladder to reach the top.

Looking to the left, you can see the southern part of Bali, with views of Mt Abang and Mt Batur in the distance. The view of Mount Agung is the primary reason for this viewpoint's unique nature.

You can find another viewpoint which is located near a large tree. It's a square palm terrace built on poles on the hillside. There is also a small platform with a roof on the ground, accompanied by wooden benches, where you can rest your legs and take in the breathtaking scenery.
